Catherine has worked for FISS since 2018 giving her the opportunity to be creative and have fun, exploring the wisdom and impact of Christianity with children. Catherine says "children are receptive and want to discuss the big issues in life; like who we are and what is our purpose?". She loves the exciting stories in the Bible, full of heroes and heroines who are also very ordinary and flawed. Most of all, she cherishes the redemptive love of Jesus that flows through the whole book. "It's a love story that I am privileged to share."
With a background in dance, contemporary dance and theatre, Catherine has majored in youth and children's work. Catherine also does children's work for Ebenezer Baptist church and mentoring and youth work for The Sidewalk Project in Scarborough (our sister charity). Catherine is married to Dan and they have two young children. It is their deep questions that have prodded and inspired her in her work and helped her to consider faith and life from a child’s perspective. |
Christina joined FISS in September 2019 to help Catherine deliver assemblies and clubs and to do some of the administration. With a degree in geological sciences and a background in teaching, she loves finding fun ways to teach children about Christianity. "It is a privilege and responsibility to serve schools and to be able to share the message of God's love."
Christina is married to Jonathan and has been in Scarborough with her family since 2015. |
Tom joined the team part-time in November 2021. He’s really excited about supporting the rest of the team in their roles. He became a Christian through his school Christian Union and thinks it is really important that everyone, especially children, are given the opportunity to learn about Jesus. Tom has a degree in history and a background in education: working for many years as a primary school teacher. It was whilst working in a local primary that he first came across FISS and the amazing work they do in serving the local schools.
Tom is married to Lucy and they have three children. They moved to Scarborough in 2017. |
